Diversity in a workforce or work environment involves human qualities that are different from our own and outside the groups to which we belong. Therefore, it is important to understand how diversity affects performance, motivation, success and interactions with others. Since all employees and people have differences, this allows us as a society to reach our goals through different types of people. This has made me realize how important diversity is in the workforce. I believe it is very important to be able to work with an individual of a different age, race or ethnic background. This allows employees to learn from others whose work styles and thoughts vary from our own. Even though their attitudes may be different it allows employees to learn how others handle situations and work with people. Diversity comes off in a positive way to me as it makes a company stronger, improves workforce quality, and allows individuals to learn about others. I believe diversity is very important as it will help people succeed and learn how to work with others since after all we are part of a global market.
